- Primary school level with 1 year's playing experience
- Membership is £59 per annum (£53 for each additional child) for the academic year 2026/27. Those families in receipt of Free School Meals will receive a 70% remission and the cost will therefore be £18 (£16 for each additional child)
Ballyclare Junior Wind Band is open to all pupils who play wind, brass and percussion instruments in year 6 and 7 in Primary Schools.
Weekly rehearsals take place in Ballyclare Secondary school on Thursdays, 4.15-5.15pm.
This is generally a young musician’s first experience of playing in a larger ensemble and helps to forge friendships, confidence and progress.
The Ballyclare Junior Wind Band perform in two concerts per year; one around Christmas and another at the end of the Spring term.

November: 5, 12, 19, 26
December: 2 (*local concert in Open Arms Centre, Newtownabbey)
January: 7, 14, 21, 28
February: 4, 18, 25
March: 4, 11, 16 (*rehearsal and Gala concert in the Diamond Hall, University of Ulster, Coleraine)
